Prove it, don't predict it
If we say a system is exploitable, we show you the path we took to get in. A warning you can't verify is just a vibe — and we don't bill for vibes.
About · Bloomington, IN
Zelwyn Security isn't a 40-person firm that funnels your work to a junior and a scanner. It's a focused consultancy that does the testing, writes the report, and sits on the call where you ask what it all means.
Zelwyn was started by a tester who spent years inside bigger security firms watching the same thing happen: a client pays five figures, gets a 90-page PDF of color-coded severities, and still has no idea what to fix on Monday. The real work — getting into a system and explaining how — got buried under boilerplate.
So the pitch here is deliberately narrow. We work with small and mid-sized companies in and around Bloomington that need honest security testing but don't have an in-house security team to translate it. You get the person who did the testing on the phone, not a sales engineer reading a slide.
We stay small on purpose. Fewer clients, deeper work, and a report you'd actually be comfortable handing to your auditor — or your CEO — without a translator.
If we say a system is exploitable, we show you the path we took to get in. A warning you can't verify is just a vibe — and we don't bill for vibes.
Every finding is written so a non-engineer can follow it and act on it. Jargon is where accountability goes to hide, and we'd rather be understood.
Sometimes the honest answer on the scoping call is “patch that one thing and come back next year.” We'd rather lose the sale than sell you a test you don't need.
You get a flat per-engagement number before you sign — not an hourly meter that quietly runs over. The scope is the scope; surprises on the invoice aren't a thing here.
Who you'll actually talk to
No handoffs, no mystery team. The same hands that find the holes write the report and walk your team through it line by line. When you email projects@zelwynsecurity.com or call the shop, you reach the tester — not a ticket queue.
Based at 106 15th St in Bloomington, working with companies across southern and central Indiana. Remote testing covers the rest of the country when the scope calls for it.
Book a 20-minute callMost of what makes security consulting feel sketchy is the stuff nobody admits to. Here's where we draw the line.
Automated tools are part of the job, not the whole job. If all you need is a vulnerability scan, there's cheaper software for that — we'll point you to it instead of marking it up 10×.
We won't inflate a medium into a “critical” to scare you into a bigger package. You'll see exactly why each finding is ranked where it is, and you're free to disagree.
We get you ready for a SOC 2 or HIPAA audit — the gap assessment, the remediation order, the evidence pack. The audit itself is signed off by a licensed CPA firm, and we'll say so plainly.
We bill per engagement with a defined scope and end date. If ongoing testing genuinely makes sense for you, we'll schedule it as named engagements — not a vague monthly charge that drifts.
Tell us what you're running and what's keeping you up at night. Twenty free minutes, and you'll leave knowing whether we're even the right call.
